Some places don’t need anything added to them.
They just ask you to show up and pay attention.
Big Sur feels like that.
The cliffs, the wind, the constant movement of the ocean. It has a way of slowing everything down without asking. B + C leaned into that from the very beginning. No pressure to perform, no rigid timeline. Plenty of time for the day to unfold exactly as it was meant to.
The morning started quietly.
Light coming through the windows. Details scattered naturally around the space. The kind of setting that doesn’t need to be styled because it already feels lived in.
Brittany got ready with her hair and makeup artist while everything else moved slowly around her. No rush. No tension. Just space and a Taylor Swift playlist to settle into the day.
Her bouquet by Big Sur Flowers rested nearby, adding to the quiet details of the morning.
Those moments always matter more than people expect—The in-between, the pauses, the way it feels before anything officially begins.

Before heading to the coast, we made a stop in the redwoods.
Everything shifted there.
The air felt different. Quieter. Heavier in a grounding kind of way. The light filtered through the trees in a way that made everything feel still.
They didn’t need direction. Just small movement, staying close, letting the space do what it does.
It felt like a breath before the next part of the day.

Garrapata has a kind of openness to it.
Cliffs that drop into the ocean. Wind that doesn’t hold back. The kind of landscape that reminds you how small everything else is.
And it was windy.
The kind of wind that pulls at your hair, catches the fabric of a dress, makes everything feel alive and in motion. Instead of fighting it, they let it be part of the day.
That’s the thing about Big Sur—you don’t control it. You experience it.
Their ceremony was simple. Intentional. Fully theirs.
No distractions. No pressure to make it anything more than what it already was.
Just B + C, present, choosing each other.

After the ceremony, everything softened.
There was no timeline to rush into. No next “event” to get to. Just space.
We stayed along the coast, letting the wind carry through, walking without a plan, stopping whenever something felt worth noticing.
The way Brittany’s dress moved with the wind.
The quiet moments in between the bigger ones.
The laughter that came naturally.
This part of the day is always my favorite.
When everything else falls away and what’s left is just the two of you—fully in it, fully present, without needing anything more.

Big Sur has a way of slowing everything down. Of reminding you what actually matters. Not the timeline, not the details, not how anything looks from the outside. Just the feeling of being there together, with nothing pulling you away from it. This is what I come back for every time. If you’re drawn to days like this, you can connect with me here. I’d love to tell your story and all the little things that make it yours.
